Las Cárcavas is Isay's first project on the Uruguayan coast. You can perceive his characteristic personality and style in every detail, as well as his spirit, reflected in the ideas behind each decision. The architect's vision seeks to combine nature with lifestyle comforts, in a genuine, conscious, and responsible way.
responsible landscaping
The landscaping of Las Cárcavas was left in John Brookes’s hands, recognized as one of the most influential landscape designers of the century. His work in British gardens and his invaluable contribution to design makes him an integral part of this project, which seeks to highlight the environment without modifying it. Brookes, together with Estudio Barzi Casares, have been responsible for this enormous task. Their designs are based on the sustainable use of the environment, introducing species well-suited for the area that require low maintenance, while encouraging the responsible use of water, decreasing the level of erosion, and helping to enrich the native fauna.
